Hair, in its best light

Cutting, colour and care in a bright room on Marchmont Street. Book a chair online, see a shade on real hair before you commit, and know what it costs before you arrive.

Book a chair Find your shade

Real hair, simulated strand by strand. Run your cursor through it.

The room

Six chairs north light, unhurried colour and a price list that means exactly what it says.

We book colour with the processing time written in, so nobody is hurried and nobody sits under a dryer they did not need.

Every appointment starts with a consultation at the mirror, even a trim. Every price on this site is the price at the desk, for the stylist you choose — and if a colour will take two visits, we tell you before the first.

Shade studio

See it on hair before it is on yours

The hair beside this panel is thousands of strands, lit and coloured the way hair is: by how much of each melanin is in the fibre. Change the shade and it goes on from the root, the way colour does.

A guide, not a promise: the result depends on where your hair starts and what it has been through. We talk it through at a consultation.

Level 7 gold, balayage, soft wave

Painted from a level 5 base, lifted to a 9 at the ends and toned gold, so it grows out without a line.

By Nadia Farrow

Level 7 copper, all-over, waves

One copper from root to tip, glossed every six weeks to keep the warmth.

By Iris Mbeki

Level 3 red, all-over, sleek

A deep red over a natural level 3: in daylight it is red, indoors nearly black.

By Iris Mbeki

Level 10 ash, all-over, sleek

Lifted over two visits with bond repair between, then toned to cancel every trace of yellow.

By Nadia Farrow

Level 5 rose, lived-in, waves

A rose tint on the lightened ends only; it fades to a soft peach in about a month.

By Sol Navarro

Level 9 violet, all-over, soft wave

A pastel violet over a level 9. Semi-permanent: lasts eight to ten washes.

By Sol Navarro

Level 6 copper, root shadow, soft wave

A darker root melting into warm copper lengths, for low upkeep.

By Iris Mbeki

Level 8 natural, lived-in, waves

A few fine pieces around the face and through the top, to look like a summer outdoors.

What guests say

I brought a photo of a colour I had been chasing for three years. They showed me it on the screen first, told me honestly it would take two visits, and it did.

Hannah R. Balayage, over two appointments · September 2026 on Google

The price on the website was the price at the desk. That should not be remarkable, and yet.

Tom W. Skin fade and beard · September 2026 on Google

Forty minutes of processing, and they told me so when I booked. I brought my laptop and got a morning’s work done.

Priya S. Root colour and gloss · August 2026 on Treatwell
