Lustre opened on Marchmont Street in 2014 with three chairs and one rule: tell people the truth about their hair. Omid Rahimi had spent twelve years cutting in Tehran and in Soho; Nadia Farrow had been teaching colour for L’Oréal. They wanted a salon where the price on the wall was the price at the desk and nobody was promised a colour that would take two visits in one.
How we work
Every appointment starts with a consultation at the mirror. Colour is booked with its processing time written in. New colour clients have a skin test forty-eight hours before. Anything we are not sure about, we say so — and we would rather book a consultation than guess.
Who we are
Six stylists across three levels, every one of them qualified to NVQ Level 3 and registered with the Hair & Barber Council. We train together every Monday morning, and our colour work is checked by our colour director.
